Specifications of Vela's U-Truss Solution

• Engineered to carry concrete roof tiles, steel roof sheeting, fibre-cement roof sheeting or “Harvey” tiles
• Roof truss components are manufactured from Z200 galvanised steel or AZ150 zinc-alume or higher spec depending on proximity to coast
• Steel used varies from 0.58mm ISQ 550MPa to 1.6mm ISQ 230MPa
• Maximum span of roof truss is approximately 20m unsupported, depending on design and loading criteria
• Roof trusses are designed in accordance with the following codes:
  • SANS517: Light Steel Frame Building
  • SABS 0160: The general procedures and loading to be adopted in the design of buildings
  • AS/NZS 4600:2005 Cold-formed steel structures
  • Roof anchoring in accordance with SANS10400
